Frequently asked questions related to scalp pigmentation
Here we provide some answers to frequently asked questions about scalp pigmentation. Please do not hesitate to contact us at no obligation for a preliminary examination and to receive detailed advice, including a visit to our institute.
Is it painful?
A scalp pigmentation treatment is only slightly painful. Pain is even a big word for the sensation; a slightly bothersome tingling would be a better description. The needle used does not penetrate that deeply. It just penetrates deeply enough to make the colour and the result permanent. Most people describe the feeling as a ‘dull discomfort’.
Does it have any harmful effects?
Scalp pigmentation treatment is completely natural and completely approved by public health agencies. The ink used is non-allergenic, biocompatible and bioabsorbable. Even as the pigmentation begins to age, this ink will NOT fade to blue or green. The ink is carbon-based.
How many visits does the treatment require?
Depending on the area being treated, you must return for two or three follow-up treatments.
How long does the treatment take?
Each session lasts approximately one hour, depending on the area being treated.
How long does the pigmentation last?
The effect of scalp pigmentation is permanent. Depending on your skin, you may need a yearly touch-up to maintain an optimal result. However, that is rarely or seldom necessary. Many people pay us a regular visit so we can perform a check-up and then repigment certain zones, where necessary.
